On October 26th, 2013, BNSF Railway train Q-CHISBD6-23L (Guaranteed Service Intermodal; Chicago IL - San Bernardino CA) rounds the curve at Swarthout Road as it approaches Blue Cut in Cajon Pass, in southern California. As it does, it passes a roadside memorial to a 31-year-old Fontana man who was struck by a train as he tried to cross the tracks on foot shortly before noon on May 5th.
