Auckland Transport train from Britomart terminal climbs towards Newmarket where the Southern and Western Lines diverge. This line is part of the first railway in Auckland opened in 1873 to Onehunga. The line was doubled in 1915 with opening of current Parnell Tunnel located just around curve behind the train.
