At the bottom of the Opencast Pit coal mine in Jalainur, SY 1119 leads an empty coal train to be loaded, while SY 1285 passes on the switchback above. Soon SY 1119 will follow its sister up to the coal washery with another load of coal from this immense mine. Scenes like this one occured dozens of times each day, at the busy mines of Jalainur where over 50 Mikados were used everyday. Sadly, this scene has faded into history, as the opencast mine was closed in mid-2009 and most of Jailanur's 53 2-8-2's scrapped.
