On Saturday November 30, 2013 two steam locomotives were under steam and operating on Santa trains in Minersville, PA.
Originally billed as double headers, CNJ 113 was forced to sit out the return leg of the 1pm trip due to steam pressure issues. Running upgrade with 7 cars and a caboose, R&N 425 put on quite a show while going solo on the mid-day run.
For those who were willing to do a little legwork (literally and figuratively) a nicely lit shot of the 425 was to be had in abandoned coal lands south of Minersville.
