| On Saturday Evening this locomotive and it's coaches will be all lit up to deliver kids to see Santa at Fairy Lake Station at the other end of the line. Today we came in to clear the line in preparation for the upcoming event. The loco is parked here at the yard gates while ice is being cleared from the flangeways of the road crossing just ahead. Once that is done we will continue plowing on down the line. Our "plow" is an extra tie which we set on the rails under the pilot step against the loco's front frame member. The tie cleans the snow even with the railhead, and is loosely chained so it stays in place while reversing. |
