| I didn't venture into the southern part of Lower Michigan very often as I was much more interested in my hometown Soo Line and the CNW/MILW/LS&I ore operations closer to home, although I did get stuck going downstate a couple times a year on business trips. Normally I'd try to sneak out of a boring meeting (especially if the sun was shining) and get what I could as far as rail action. On this fine spring day I'd signed into the meeting and waited until the first coffee break before bailing out and grabbing a few shots around the Chessie's Grand Rapids area yard.
