| The grade between Montandon and Potrerillos belongs to one of the most spectaculars lines of the Chilean Railways. 3.9% steep through the slopes of the mountains up to Potrerillos and this with full loaded trains is really hard work for the 1960ies us-built diesel locos. But for the photographers it is a real spectacle. the sound, the images....
Here G22CU #94 - a Codelco owned and Ferronor leased unit - is hauling some sulfuric acid tank cars up to the Potrerillos copper plant. |
