Because San Bartolomé is a switchback without counterpart, trains have to be re-arranged before they can proceed to Lima. After an epic one-hour shunting operation 701 is finally being coupled to the other end of the train. However it took another hour of shunting and checking until the train finally left...

1010 on the right reminds us of the perils of railroading in this difficult terrain. I don't know what exactly happened, though.
