    Remarks & Notes
To commemorate America's Bicentennial, many railroads painted special Bicentennial units in glorious red, white, and blue schemes. One of the best was the one done by Grand Trunk Western, which featured an eagle styled into the scheme. This unit lasted quite a while in this scheme before it was repainted as Central Vermont 5808, and eventually made it to Locomotive Leasing Partners as LLPX 2210. Here, the unit sits in the yard in Durand, MI. after making a dropoff from its westbound train before running back to its train. 35mm slide from my collection, photo by J. Swift.
