The Countdown Unit brings up the rear of the southbound Nordic Ski Train seen here at Matanuska JCT. The Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage charters the annual ski train for an all-day event in Curry, AK, an abandoned ski resort accessible only by train. At 16 cars and 3 MACs, the Nordic Ski Train is the longest passenger train the railroad runs.
