| This one of my favorite photo locations on the east side of the Soldier Summit grade. The location is called Kyune and it is nearly at the top of the almost 2.4% grade up from Helper. This is strictly an afternoon/evening spot for favorable light. The UP 7656 and its other head end power as well as the 3 unseen manned swing helpers and the 2 rear end DPU's are going through these beautiful reverse curves with their 14,586 ton train of eastern Utah coal. Then it's just one more curve before the grade lessens. |
