| While 75% of the Railfan population was chasing UP's 4014 I was here in Alaska on a warm 60 degree Sping day. Usually choices are limited but today I had multiple options An early morning train to Whittier, which proved to be a little too early as the sun was out but had yet to clear the Chugach Mountains. Second choice was a loaded coal train to Seward, which you see the result of here. At MP 86 a loaded 70 car coal train travers the shoreline of Turnagain Arm. In the background are the 3 SD70MAC DP units necessary to climb Grandview and Divide Hills. |
