The 3rd June 2014 brought down the curtain of 45 years of C69/77 stock on the London Underground District line when the last remaining units working Wimbledon to Edgware Road were withdrawn in favour of new, air conditioned S stock units. With less than 24 hours left in public service and the departure boards mistakenly displaying Mansion House, unit no.5578 leads an Edgware Road service into Earl's Court under the impressive overall roof on 2nd June 2014.
