UP 446, an EMD SD24 'Power Unit' is coupled to the UP S5, a 'Yard Slug' (a former UP GP9B No. 306B) awaiting repair work at Union Pacific's Salt Lake Shops in Oct. 1977. At the time, the duo were assigned to work in Los Angeles, California.
