At 4:40am, the northbound signals at Ayersville, milepost 552.0 of the Piedmont Division, show all stop for southbound manifest 348 to pass through. These Southern Railway signals are on their very last leg with the wayside replacements being activated this month. These signals have served nearly flawlessly for decades, but everything has to die at some point.
