These days on BNSF's Glorieta and Raton Subdivisions, any locomotive other than a GE P42 is hard to come by, seeing as the only remaining train left to traverse the route is Amtrak's daily Southwest Chief. However, a break in the mold is always accepted, and today was no exception as a rather shoddy BNSF Dash 9 leads train 3, the westbound Chief, faintly reminding the rails and ties beneath it of what it was like to host freight traffic.
