Remarks & Notes

Due to a combination of a harsh winter, booming oil industry, and aggressive trackwork, Amtrak's Prized train, the Empire Builder detours over the KO Sub. While the eastbound train 8 still uses its intended route north of here, train 7 detours westbound as its easier to go with the flow of traffic. Most westbound traffic travels the KO sub, and eastbound traffic via Grand Forks to the north. An unusually calm foggy sunrise greets today's train 7 as it flies over a spectacular bridge built by the Great Northern in 1912.
