The Southern Railway lives on. This 41 year old high hood GP38-2 leads NS train #153 (Linwood,NC - Birmingham,AL) through the terrain of west Georgia running long hood forward just as the train gods intended. The #5079 was added to the point at Greenville,SC because of complications with the lead UP motor. As power short as NS has been, this GP38-2 was kept on through Atlanta and lead the train west into Birmingham. What a sight for sore eyes.
