| Our chartered train rounds the oft photographed curve near the Zulu village of Mjila on the rugged and never completed Cape Natal line. At first glance Garratt locomotives look strange to Americans used to conventional articulated engines, but it does not take long to become enamored with these mighty beasts. Even on narrow Cape gauge (3'6") rails they are impressive. |
