    Remarks & Notes
Railroad Passenger Car Numbering Bureau, Inc. (RPCX) SW1 738, assigned to Saint Louis' Union Station, sits next to some of the privately owned passenger cars that it had been switching. This engine was built by EMD in November 1950 as Pennsylvania Railroad 9422. Pennsy renumbered it to 8522, and that number stuck after the Penn Central merger. PC 8522 was eventually sold to Amtrak, becoming their number 251. Eventually, Amtrak renumbered it to 738, eventually selling it to Washington Terminal (as their number 738). And the observation car? Great Lakes Railcar, Inc. (GTLX) 800726 is painted as Louisville & Nashville "Royal Street".
