September 27th and 28th saw peak fall colors on Cumbres Pass, and here it's easy to see why! C&TS 487 brings 10 cars down the 4%, just past the old siding of Coxo.
The first 3 of these cars were on the eastbound train that had departed Chama that morning. There were 22 cars combined on the two trains, the most riders in a single day on the Cumbres & Toltec in over 3 years!
