White River Junction, Vermont's Rotary Club Polar Express train operated on Saturday, December 13 and Sunday, December 14, with Vermont Railway GP40-2 303 (ex-Boston & Maine on old home turf) hauling the sold-out trains. Santa is seen conversing with Vermont Rail System Passenger Representative Brian McGregor and conductor Bob Popovac as he boards the train at Norwich, Vermont (aka the North Pole).
Although most only provide freight service, regional railroads have passenger operations; not only executive trains but also charity events and excursions.
