| Amtrak train 55, the southward Vermonter, is seen on the newly upgraded Pan Am Connecticut River Line, currently part of the planned Knowledge Corridor. Until December 29 the train ran via Palmer and Amherst Massachusetts on the New England Central. The new route runs directly north from Springfield to East Northfield Massachusetts saving time and a reverse move at Palmer. Two privately owned cabooses are seen on the left. |
