KCT Train 217 crew delivers 75 cars of shredded steel scrap from KCT Mill Street Yard, which will leave town as BNSF Train U KCKHKM0 02T after interchange at Rosedale. Here we sit at 30th Street after a switch indication started showing up under our train, prompting KCT Traffic Control to ask us to stop so the maintainer could take a look. This train departs KC as a 2x1 DPU configuration.
You never know what power this train will have. It has run with GE's from BNSF, NS, UP, CP, and CSX. So far the only EMD's this train has drawn was a couple BNSF SD70MACs. A few GE's have shown up in warbonnet paint in the 700 and 4700 class, along with a pair of 600's and even one 900 class Dash-8.
I keep waiting for them to start sending us CEFX SD60s or SD90s, or maybe some CREX units. A NS heritage unit would be nice. One of the GEVOs we had was only a couple numbers below the heritage series.
The ES44C4 was built in February 2014, the newest unit I've run in probably 4 years.
