| This is one of those unexpected cool surprises that can spin an ordinary day trackside to a special one. I had no intention of being trackside on the D&H until I received a phone call from a good friend on a quick turnaround of the NS #206 power at Mechanicville Yard. Knowing what it meant I shoved 10 bucks of gas in my Honda and sped to Schenectady to join a few other photographers to catch the departing CP #939. Seeing the clean NS 8098 curving past the old D&H era signals of Mohawk Yard on a crisp, blue dome Saturday afternoon, one couldn't help wondering if this would of been the face of the modern Conrail of 2015 had it survived as a Class One entity. A huge bonus was the nice long line of JB Hunt stacks behind the power, the low sun hour and even a brief stop at Delanson down the line to wait for traffic. Good to see the big blue ghost in it's winter glory.
