    Remarks & Notes
Reading G-1sa Pacific #111 - Built by the Reading Company

The 10th preserved Reading built steam engine that you never knew about - yes, it's a scale model, but this 1930's functional steam engine was built by 52 apprentices of the Reading Company for display at the 1939 World's Fair in New York City. It was displayed at Reading Terminal in the 1950's and the Franklin Institute for many years before being put in storage. It eventually made it's way to the Berks History Center. Sorry about the slight glare - taken with permission in a cleared room at ISO 100, 20 second exposure with a polarizing lens. (The museum was not likely to let me take a 30 minute exposure with the lights out on this visit, lol.) A very impressive Reading survivor!

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
