East Branch & Lincoln. Operating just a scant couple of miles from where she spent her long working career, the former East Branch & Lincoln Baldwin #5 chugs her way upgrade on the White Mountain Central Railroad, with a string of log bunks. Built in 1906, this 2-4-2T Saddletanker earned her living for 40 years as a logging engine, and then for another 23 as a lumber mill yard switcher. She then spent over 30 years as a static display at the nearby Loon Mountain Ski Area, before being acquired by Clark's Trading Post in....of all things...a trade! She was restored to operating condition in 1999 and operates on special occasions. Although she doesn't look like a large locomotive, #5 is the second most powerful engine in the WMCRR stable, and is fully capable of pushing the line's regular tourist trains.
