    Remarks & Notes
Hard to the Edge Shortly after the Halt in Trois-Villes the narrow gauge line from Ste-Croix to Yverdon-les-Bains is passing the "Les Rapilles" section. Cut into the massive rock wall the line is hard to the edge of falling down the valley. With a gradient of 4.4% it is also the steepest part of the line. During the steam era powerful mallet locomotives of typ 0-4-4-0, 0-4-6-0 and finally 0-6-6-0 served the line. Here we see the Be 4/4 #15 EMU with two standard gauge freight cars. Every axle of the freight cars sit on a special carrier truck (in german: Rollbock) for allowing them to run on metre gauge which the line has. The system is quite efficient and therefore the small line still see weekly freight traffic. The motor coach is rented from the neighboring MBC due to a previous loss of the similiar own motor coach #2 due to an accident. Anyway the line is common for the #15 - it has served most of its life on this line as #3 and carries still - except the railways initial - the old paint scheme of the Yverdo-Ste-Croix Railway.
