      Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific's Huntington Beach Hauler passes through Stanton, California, as it heads from Anaheim to Huntington Beach ... and the engineer leans out to view the idiot with a camera. Perhaps he is concerned about that broken lading strap dragging along the ballast on the first car, or perhaps he's concerned that trackage in such poor condition (note the angles of the various cars) could result in a derailment, crushing the photographer. But the most likely scenario is that he is taken aback that anyone would want to waste their time photographing the lowly and well used ex-SP "Crud" powering his train this January 1998 afternoon.
