          Remarks & Notes
Whipping up the loose snow set down by its westbound counterpart earlier in the day, the eastbound Southwest Chief charges across the plains of northern New Mexico. The nine car train is about to pass the Santa Fe semaphore signals at the west end of Colmor siding, one of the most derelict locations on BNSF's Raton Subdivision. Abandoned buildings and complete silence are all at occupy the lost community for a majority of the day... only the passing of two trains a day keep the town from fading into history.

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
