A Hartley, IA, empty ethanol train is in the process of making the 13 mile climb out of the Mississippi River Valley west of Marquette. The train is seen here passing MP 11, 11 miles into the 117 mile trip to Mason City. A steep grade and heavy curvature make it a decent pull for the 78 car train.
