Galloping home early in the afternoon at Rocky siding, Rio Grande number 10, the Craig-Denver Yampa Valley, is 35 minutes from a 3:20 arrival at Union Station. Three coaches and a baggage car behind PA-1 6003, the local has dropped 350 feet in just a few miles, making its way down the twisting 1.5 percent Big and Little Ten curves on March 27, 1966. Once known as the Yampa Valley Mail, Number 10 lost its mail contract and RPO three years ago and will run its last by the end of 1968.
