I never believed that the ND&W's track was this bad until I saw it first hand. Even though the railroad's corporate owner, Pioneer Railcorp, has made significant improvements to the line since the days of the MAW, the railroad is still in desperate need of attention. It seems that any railroad that operates this line is a few steps behind in maintenance thanks to the Great Black Swamp.
