| 7051 hauls the Wellington bound Northern Explorer through Wiri, passing the Auckland Transport Electric Train depot. The locomotive was originally built in Canada 1979 to 1981. The train was built by Hillside in Dunedin, NZ and won a design award. A feature of the train is an open air window car. The 420-mile (680Km) journey takes about 11 hours. |
