4951 descends from Waitakere tunnel with a train to Waitakere in the last few weeks of locomotive hauled commuter trains on the Western Line. After electric units took over all trains on the network services from Swanson to Waitakere ceased, replaced by buses. The carriages are ex British Rail Mk II with driving cabs for push pull operation.
