This weekend is Beamish museum's annual steam fair and this year it has a World War 1 theme. In the pit yard two narrow gauge steam locomotives vie for attention with a narrow gauge armoured sentinel diesel locomotive which were used during the conflict close to the trenches, hence the protection. in the background traction engines and steam driven lorries are gathering before a grand parade into Beamish town when all visitors have gone.
