Remarks & Notes

A day spent at Lakeside is often a day of lengthy pauses briefly punctuated by a passing train or maybe an off-roader. Only 4 trains had passed this day as the sun sank below the horizon, but a distant headlight far out on the Salt Lake Causeway heralded the approach of the 5th. For 30 minutes I watched it approach, as the day faded into night. Approaching the west end of the causeway, this westbound Z was directed into the siding to meet an opposing train, allowing for this blue hour shot to punctuate an interesting day at Lakeside.
