Former ICG 7738, a GP8 Paducah Rebuild, charges under the old Rosemont signal bridge at the Bluegrass Railroad Museum during a members night. Both locomotive and signal represent unique items associated with two of Kentucky's railroads. The locomotives rebuilt by Illinois Central and ICG from GP7 and GP9 models into GP8 and GP10 rebuilds were ubiquitous on that railroad's operations in the state of Kentucky. The signal bridge is a fine example of the CNO&TP specific variation on the Southern Railway's home built structures constructed from old boxcar center sills. Volunteers at the Bluegrass Railroad Museum have recently restored and erected the bridge on their line for preservation and display purposes. Thanks to the generosity of Norfolk Southern Corporation for allowing the museum to preserve this piece in its entirety. This was one of the more frequently photographed signals in the Lexington area when in use on the NS due to a railfan friendly parking area next to a public grade crossing in the middle of the Control Point.
