Announced today, a new 501c(3) not-for-profit, the Nashville Steam Preservation Society, is seeking a lease with Metro Nashville Parks to rebuild former Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway steam locomotive number 576 to operation and run it on the Nashville & Eastern Railroad in connection with the Tennessee Central Railway Museum.

Not only known as Music City, USA, Nashville served as a major junction for the Louisville and Nashville, Tennessee Central, and Nashville, Chattanooga, and St. Louis as well as through service for a host of other railroads.
