UPY No. 610 sits in the sandblasting bay at the paint shop at Union Pacific’s Jenks Shop in North Little Rock, Arkansas, on May 19, 2015. After all the desired paint and lettering is removed in the messy sandblasting process, locomotives are given a thorough rinse—inside and out—before they can be primed and ready for finish coats. Note all the scraps of Scotchlight from the now-removed lettering and stripes!
