After Southern’s ex-CP Royal Hudson picked the turntable track at Charlottesville, Virginia, seen here, the C&O sent the pride of the fleet to assist in the rerailing operation. As the Southern steam crew tackles the delicate task, quite a crowd of onlookers has gathered, many wondering if they would get back to Alexandria at a reasonable hour. They did.
