Sometimes the photos that seem the most mundane end up being very interesting if you look at the details. While the UP North Yard is not quite as active as it usually is in this shot, you can spot interesting things such as the Chicago & Northwestern sand hopper, the BNSF visitor, a UP SD70ACe (UP 8377 behind the BNSF Dash 9), an AC45CCTE (UP 7422), a GP15-1 (UPY 577), the backside of a Southern Pacific AC4400CW, four MP15’s (UPY 1443 – MP15AC, UPY 1295 – MP15DC, UPY 1449 – MP15AC, and UPY 1453 – MP15AC), and UP 6422 (AC4400CW). Another interesting factoid – all four MP15’s and UP 6422 used to actually be Southern Pacific engines.
