      Remarks & Notes
An eastbound Metrolink 'extra' slowly pulls out of the siding at CP Ravenna within the confines of Soledad Canyon. Originally completed in 1876 by the Southern Pacific Railroad as the final link in SP's northern-southern California connection today the line is owned by Metrolink and hosts dozens of commuter trains daily between the Antelope Valley (Lancaster/Palmdale) and Los Angeles with intermediate stops in Acton, Santa Clarita Valley, & San Fernando Valley. Today's extra is led by leased BNSF AC4400 5696 with Metrolink's one and only F40PH, ex-Amtrak, bringing up the north end of the train.
