    Remarks & Notes
If there was one "signature" shot I had to identify on the Great Western Railway between Shaunavon and Assiniboia, it would hands down be at Ponteix. Ever since seeing photos of the GWRS M420Ws, I desperately wanted to photograph them coming by a classic Saskatchewan Pool grain elevator. You can't ask for much more of a classic structure than the Ponteix elevator, even if the Pool logo is now painted out. While the tank cars suggest the GWRS is still handling crude oil, that is not the case. DOT 111 tank cars are stored all over the GWRS system, providing extra revenue for the railroad's agricultural traffic base. The M420Ws are on borrowed time, with the entire fleet for sale.
