Remarks & Notes

Built by the Marion Steam Shovel Company of Marion, Ohio in 1920 this unique item is possibly the oldest remaining 12" gun mount on a rail car. Once used as coastal defenses through the 1920s. During World War II, the United States Navy used this car for ballistic testing.
