On somewhat rare, rainy day on the central coast, Amtrak 1790 waits patiently at the ex-Southern Pacific, San Luis Obispo station as mist continues to roll over the hills in the background. Special features on today's train include four Los Angeles-based private cars, the Silver Splendor, Acoma, Pacific Trail and Overland Trail and a southward facing Amtrak locomotive, something not normally seen as cabcars (or NPCU's) usually lead southbound trains out of SLO.
