On August 13, 2015, Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad ran a double header to Silverton, Colorado, pulled by road engine K-36 No. 486 and helper K-28 No. 473. After arriving at Silverton and unloading passengers, No. 473 has cut off and follows the train it helped, both backing down 12th Street heading for the wye.
