On the last National Train Day to be held at Los Angeles Union Station, unknown at the time, Santa Fe 3751 is posed for a series at photos with a fully restored Railway Express Agency deliver truck at Track 15 prior to being spotted in its final display location for the day's events. Built in 1945 by the International Harvester Company, the 71-year-old truck looks sharp with the 1927-built Baldwin in the background complete with a "Zebra Stripe" painted Pacific Harbor Line (PHL) unit trailing. With the addition of the stainless steel fluting from ex-California Zephyr rear-end observation/dome car "Silver Solarium" reflection in the windshield and it's full carboy seen in the number of the truck joined with the ex-California Zephyr sleeping car "Silver Rapids" adjacent to the steamer...those of us present we really taken back in time for the short few minutes this scene lasted before 3751 was moved ahead and spotted for its display.
