| Built early 1980s by A Goninan & Co for Westrail the ADL units were sold (after electrification of Perth's rail network) to Tranz Rail in 1993. They were refurbished in 2002 and ran on all lines until the take over by electric trains was complete in 2015. Most were offered for sale but several 2 car units have been retained for services on the yet to be electrified section between Papakura and Pukekohe. |
