    Remarks & Notes
Steamy Sheepscot Morning. A cloudy, chilly winter morning finds the visiting Monson Railroad #3 emitting tall plumes of steam as she heads for the upper yard at Sheepscot to coal up for the day.

In January of 2017, the Wiscasset Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum combined forces with the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Company & Museum and the Boothbay Railway Village to present a Maine 2-Foot photo event on the grounds of the WW&F Museum. In addition to the WW&F's own equipment, the MNGRR folks trucked their Monson Locomotive #3 up from its base in Portland, while the Boothbay folks sent over their Bridgton & Saco River Coach #11. With the additional motive power and rolling stock, the museum crews were able to recreate numerous scenes representative of the way in which Maine's five 2-foot gauge railroads operated in the early part of the 20th century.

As a point of interest, the structure in the foreground of this photo is a replica of the WW&F Whitefield Section House. This structure is used to store the museum's track maintenance equipment, including a pair of 2-foot handcars.
